Defence Training – Virtual 3D Content
Project Overview:
We have developed numerous 3D entity models and virtual 3D environments for the Defence market, generally used within various simulation-based training operations.
Project Features:
The 3D entity models we have created include military ground vehicles, aircraft, ships, submarines and more, developed for various formats such as OpenFlight and Virtual Battle Space (VBS). We pride ourselves on our ability to incorporate complex animated parts, lighting effects, weapons or scripts to provide functionality when models are used within run-time simulation engines such as VBS.
We have also built a variety of virtual environments ranging in size, complexity and geographical accuracy. Again, we are experienced in developing environments in a number of different formats and for various runtime systems.
Solution Benefits:
- With our 3D models and virtual environments our Defence clients are able to carry out realistic simulated training activities.
GHOST – Next Generation Training Support
Project Overview:
Working alongside Inzpire, the “GHOST” (Graphically Hosted Objective Solution for Training) project, for the UK MOD’s Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) involved us helping to take the solution through the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 in the niche area of Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) training.
We were brought on to the project for our wealth of experience in the development of simulation software and simulation interoperability.
Project Features:
GHOST is a virtual representation of a human which learns and unlearns alongside its live host, providing immediate support to those delivering training. The prototype that was developed collects data from live simulator-based training scenarios and provides training management support, data to guide the pre-brief, timely support to the instructor during the training session, and data to support an objective after action review.
Solution Benefits:
- GHOST helps to improve training performance and provide decision support at multiple levels. This was demonstrated through a successful operational trial of GHOST at the iDSC Boscombe at the end of the project phase.
