Huge advances have been made in driving simulator visual systems in the last couple of years, with many world-leading driving simulators adopting games engines to render their 3D visuals. For example, AVSimulation have developed the UXD Engine for SCANeR Studio, built using Unreal Engine.
This represents a revolution in the visual quality achievable within driving simulators, and it opens up a range of new use cases that rely on high quality visuals, for example ADAS system validation.
