Agility3, developer of interactive 3D applications and environments, have been selected by Transport for London (TfL) to develop a new software application that allows their engineers to visualise TfL Railway Engineering Simulator generated output within an immersive 3D environment.
Built using the latest technology from the games industry, the 3D Visualiser will give London Underground and other TfL Rail engineers the ability to automatically generate sophisticated virtual 3D rail networks and visualise train movements and asset states based on time stamped simulation data from TfL’s existing Railway Engineering Simulator (RES).
To be delivered in March 2016, the 3D Visualiser will enhance the communication of performance analysis findings to senior management and high level stakeholders, leading to improved decision making.
TfL’s System Modelling Strategy Manager, David Dobson said “We are very pleased to be partnering with Agility3. They bring with them exactly the right mix of gaming software and railway experience to allow us to achieve our goals and their previous work impressed us during a very competitive tendering process”.
